B.H., 2nd day of Rosh Chodesh (first of the month of) Tamuz 718 (Thursday, 19 June, 1958), Tiberius To a wise man and astute on a truthful matter, Mr. Z. Shazar, Peace and abundant salvation. Many of our years have already passed by, and our day are like a passing shadow, and if not now – when? Incline your ears and your heart, and hear and understand well what is being done with us now, in our days, such a deed that has never been, that we came to the world at the time of the revelation of such a holy, and new, awesome, and supreme light, a true Rebbe, such a merciful leader who is the foundation of the world, who stands between apostasy and desire, to raise the souls of Israel from depths of hell and below, from the aspect of apostasy and heresy – to desire. Such a great doctor who is extremely proficient in healing our souls to their tachlis (-ultimate), until the final end, and knows well, in general and in particular, everything that goes on with all the souls in every generation and generation, from the day G-d created man on the earth until now and until the end, the final end, and he knows all the rectifications of each one, and all of this knowledge is by him a small thing. Blessed is the Omnipresent, Blessed is He, that in these days of ours, in the deluge of a plethora of water, and mire, and slimy mud there was revealed such awesome things wonders of wonders etc., which there is no sort of darkness or nethermost abyss that can hide such a light of lights that shines for every person, at all times, in everyplace that he is. And the entire essence of the commotion and the great libel against us, which they have risen upon us to devour us for nothing, to destroy and to kill, it is just due to this, that our great Rebbe za.tza.l. desires to resurrect the dead and actual corpses, who fell tremendously from their abundant huge sins like actual corpses, and the entire great commotion is just because of this. However, what concern of ours is this, each one will go in his way, and we, with His wondrous kindness, will fulfill (Song of Songs 3:4), "I grasped him and I will not let up on him until etc.." That which the world is so distant from Hashem Yisburach, it is just because of the intensification of the deceptions, and the lies, and the switching, and the swapping of the Chambers of Exchange (Haichulay Hatimooroas) until they replace and interchange evil with good and good with evil etc. the opposite from the truth, and through the substitution and exchange all the dominion and kingdom is given to the son of the slave, and the true son of the king is forced to abscond from his place and go on the run, and be banished and a transient vagabond, and schemes are devised to depose the son of the king completely from the world Heaven forbid. And the exchanges have intensified so much until it is forbidden to mention the matter of the exchange whatsoever, and to say about him that perhaps he is the true son of the king, and whoever speaks of this, they punish him and wreak vengeance upon him. However (Psalms 92:9), "But You are exalted forever Hashem," for there have appeared and been drawn some illumination and holy sparks from the place they were drawn, until it was brought about that the exchanges began to be clarified a little, until the world will be rectified. In the end of the final times, when the sitra-achra (evil realm) intensifies profusely, then the main rectification will be through the true tzadik who is the aspect of Moshe Messiah, who judges all favorably, and finds good points even in the most forsaken and alienated, and he arouses the hidden and concealed good in the places distant from Hashem Yisburach, and he raises the good from depth of the abyss of the kleepoas (-evil husks). For this is the main avoadu (job/devotion) of the tzadik, that he endeavors to heal the sickest people by means of his great power, that he can make such wondrous vessels and constrictions, with wondrous wisdom, in such a way that it is possible to enlighten even in them hasugoas (conceptions) of the Divine, in order that they too can draw close, and specifically through this there will be the essential rectification and redemption in the final end of times. Sometimes, when one's eye is opened and he sees the wonders of the awesomeness of the absolute truth of the true tzadik, he still waits until the whole world returns to the truth, and they all are drawn close to him (the tzadik), and then he will not have any affront to his honor when he desires to draw close, and specifically then he will also draw close. But in truth that is not the course, because on the contrary, this is his main test that he should draw close specifically when the truth is cast to the ground. And therefore he who Hashem has opened his eyes and sees a little of the absolute truth, it is befitting for him to run with all his strength to him (the tzadik) like one who flees from a cesspool to a source of living water, because every one knows in his soul what he defected and ruined from his inception, and with what will he merit to draw close to such lights as these without degradation and spilling of blood. Therefore, his entire rectification is when he stands up to the test and he draws close specifically now. True aitzoas (remedies, advice, recourse) to be saved from the confusion and contortion of this world, it is necessary now, in these generations, to search and to seek from the books of Rabbainu o.b.m., and by his disciples, by his disciples' disciples etc. etc.. And if the world only merited at any rate, even now so many years after his passing o.b.m., to bask in his light, the world would already have come to its complete rectification. If every one would understand and see in his mind the powerful truth (of the true tzadikim mentioned above) and their great height and righteousness, and how he can merit to all the true and eternal good through them, certainly he would go and run on his hands and feet to draw close to them, and to set himself in the dust of their feet, however, since the truth is very extremely hidden and concealed due to the huge strife and libel, until they inoculate into the heart many difficulties, and quandaries, and confusion – through this is extremely difficult to draw close. And even though daas (realization of knowledge) is before the eyes, even still it not seen because of the abundance of the concealments and hiddenness. Just someone who doesn't want to fool himself, and looks with an absolute true eye, is able through this to see where the true underlying truth rests, and who to draw close to. Before the soul of the true tzadik descends to the world, he being the true (one) for eternal generations, (then) they proclaim in all the supernal worlds that anyone who can find guilt on this soul should come forth, and probably there is not even one that can find some guilt Heaven forbid on such a holy soul. In the interim the bal duvur (litigator-Satan) who is the Samech Mem himself comes and screams: "If this tzadik shall come to the world what more will there be (left) for me to do? And for what was I created in vain? For certainly he will return the whole world to propriety, and the entire world will be rectified by him completely." Then they answer him, the Samech Mem: "This soul certainly needs to descend to the world, as for you, devise for yourself a solution." So then the bal duvur comes up with a solution so that this tzadik will be permitted to descend to the world, and even still the light of his truth and the holiness of his righteousness will be very hidden, and cached, and concealed from the world. And probably the solution is through raising against him some famous (rabbi) of the generation who will oppose this tzadik and will hide his light with great concealment. And this antagonist, probably already has an acquaintanceship with the Samch Mem. And if the bal duvur would not push himself so much, in every generation and generation, to hide the light of the true tzadik, certainly there would already have been a complete rectification of the world. But even still (Isaiah 8:10), "The connive a scheme and it is foiled," and (Proverbs 19:21), "Many are the thoughts in the heart of man but the scheme of Hashem, it will prevail," and this soul descends into the world, and even though there truly transpires of her what transpires, even still this tzadik conquers many battles, and in the very end the world will be rectified by him completely.
